Shoot 16

This shoot turned out exactly how I wanted them too and I really love them. As I was saying in my shoot plan/inspiration; I really wanted to capture that shallow depth of field and that's exactly what I've done. I think I photographed some gorgeous still life images in this shoot and I'm really proud of what I've achieved. While editing them I thought I would make them black and white as this introduces a more dramatic atmosphere to the drugs scene. I think it makes them look a lot more gloomy and powerful compared to when they were in colour. I think they portray the mood and atmosphere of the drugs life really well and this is what I wanted to achieve within my photography. Another thing I love about this shoot is the lighting I used. The lightly coloured shadows behind the salt is a really lovely effect as it could portray the lurking shadows behind a good musicians face. Just like my example of George; his music and his image while performing are all perfect and innocent, however those lurking shadows are behind the scenes and that's what I've been trying to convey throughout this part of my exam.

Final Piece?
After editing my favourite photographs of this previous shoot, I decided to start experimenting with layering pictures to see if I like to look of any of them for my final piece. After having a go at them I am so pleased with how they've turned out and I will most probably choose one of these images below, however I haven't gone as far as choosing yet as it's really hard. I will go on to editing a few more also and see what experimentation I can start looking at. I don't think I'm going to use any mixed media except for photoshop within my final sequence piece as there aren't any that link in perfectly with what I'm doing and I'd rather keep them how they are as I really like them. I am impressed with how the smoke has layered into the drugs photographs and in each one you can see both pictures really clearly which is the most important thing; with them being eye-capturing but not too confusing. This is what's best about them and I think they really engage the audience.
